This experiential workshop was inspired by the #MeToo movement, and is intended to promote self-awareness and clarity regarding connection, leading to informed choices around the mucky gray zone of consent.
Dating, relationships, and sex have always been complex and personal. Mix that up with the current flux of social norms and changing cultural narratives and it makes for an extra confusing time.
Workshop objectives include:
• Share social science research on gender sex drives and stereotypes
• Learn about 3 interpersonal communication styles: assertive, passive, aggressive
• Improve clarity about your desires as well as the many motivations of others regarding sex, dating, and connection
• Express yourself in a realistic situation, role playing with partners
This workshop is for individuals hoping to gain more insight in to their own motivations and the possible motivations of others when it comes to emotional and physical connections. As well as to practice communication skills specific to common dating interactions, as a way of preparing for potential uncomfortable/uncertain situations.
